Many agents feel that the Listing Agreement is a document that is only presented at the very end of an agent's Listing Presentation. This gives the agent plenty of time to present all the things they will do, therefore making the final "signature" an easier decision for the potential seller. I beg to differ.
My take on this is a little different and falls right into the mentality of Sarasota's Modern Day Realtors. There is nothing special or sacread written onto these agreements; both the Purchase Agreement (a buying contract) or the Listing Agreement (agreeing to sell your home with an agent). There is no reason why you should not be shown these documents from the begining of the transaction. This way you are able to read them over in their entirety and note any questions you may have for your agent. I would much rather answer any Agreement questions up-front than be "at the table" and seem like I am just racing through it. Download, read and ask questions now. This will lead only to a more informed "you" and a more comfortable transaction.
Note - Listing Agreement itself will be posted in a matter of a couple days.
