Aqualane
A boating community located west of US 41 and just north of Stickney Point Road. Aqualane Estates is situated on a series of canals that provide direct access to Sarasota Bay. Sailboats can be seen throughout the canals and some of the older homes are being removed for new construction. Most of the homes are being renovated and/or expanded. The newer homes are of a custom, 2 story and Spanish Mediterranean design; with the older homes being mostly a ranch style design reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s. There is a mix of concrete block and frame construction.
Service facilities (banks, shops, etc) are located all along US 41 and mostly at the intersection of Clark Road and US 41. Downtown is located only 4.5 miles to the north and Siesta Key beach is about 1 mile to the southwest.
